Caleb & Hope ~ A Whimsical Wedding in Lexington, KY at the Signature Club

This wedding day held so much joy, love, and beauty.  Hope and Caleb are quite literally goals!!!  After meeting them at their engagement sessions and being met with their contagious personalities that complement each other so perfectly, I was beyond ready for their wedding day!!! There were so many special, intimate details and most importantly the presence of Christ just surrounded this couple and their wedding day.  Hope is a very talented florist in the Lexington, Ky area and she designed her own florals for her wedding.  The whimsical florals, bold colors, and lovely locations all came together to create the perfect scenery for Caleb and Hope to officially become one!

When we arrived to the Signature Club of Lansdowne– the reception venue doubled as the girls’ getting ready space–I was welcomed with an array of warmth, from the sunset hues to the generous smiles that greeted us as Hope and her girls walked in the door.  Being a florist herself, this bride gave me no shortage of extra florals and loose stems to style her invitation suite and bridal details with… which of course made me SO happy!!!  There was no better option as a backdrop for details than the classic marble tile floor.  The brilliant blue sky and clouds reflected on the surface… seemingly an omen for the beauty of all that would follow that day.  What I thought was true at the engagement session rang even truer on the wedding day… I literally cannot get over Hope’s smile.  It is contagious with joy and light! In every moment, whether it was putting on her dress with her mama’s help, or the reveal with her best girls the smile was constant, setting the mood for everyone! This created a carefree, calm atmosphere that is so ideal for a wedding day and I loved it so much!!!  Caleb was portraying a similar soft joy and anticipation as he got ready with the help of his groomsmen.

Hope and Caleb opted not to do a first look so we instead made the most of this time by capturing them with their individual bridal parties.  Hope and her bridesmaids, including her sweet sisters that stood by her all day had a garden party moment in the courtyard!  When I tell you all I will NEVER get over the dress colors and whimsical coordinating florals!!!

After wrapping up pictures with these sweet groups of friends, it was time to head to the ceremony location.  Caleb and Hope chose to get married in the chapel at Southland church, just as both sets of their parents had all those years prior.  Talk about sentimental!!! When I heard they had chosen this church as their venue I expected to be met with a modern, dark industrial room typical of larger churches.  What I didn’t know was that it would take place in the chapel of the church, a small intimate space that had clearly stood the test of time.  At the altar were just the right amount of florals and lit candles to make a simple statement.  The officiant was close to the couple and shared the eventful story of Caleb’s proposal involving a hike gone wrong.  Luckily Hope still said yes, which led us to that moment.  They had a live painter in the back of the aisle putting the scene before us to paper.  What a lovely scene it was!!

We continued with more family photos back at the Signature Club where a soft glow now invaded the courtyard.  And finally it was time for bride and groom portraits… which I knew were going to be next level with these two!  Somehow once Caleb and Hope were together for the remainder of the evening, everything seemed complete. They truly compliment each other so perfectly and their intentionality toward each other and everyone else is unmatched.  Hope’s smile somehow got even bigger as she and Caleb interacted and shared sweet moments for us to capture.  Everything was perfect!!! Not only was the theme whimsical, but this couple had a beautiful whimsy to them.

The reception continued with speeches from family and friends, including Hope’s sisters doing a joint speech, which was the cutest!!! We stole Hope and Caleb away for a few more “sunset photos” and letter/vow reading as the sun dipped just behind the trees.  The way Hope’s dress fluttered as she ran or twirled captured the essence of the day.  As we wrapped up guests had accumulated in an audience on the grand balcony and the couple waved back in response.  Not only did they have the live painter for the ceremony but the merriment continued with the option of custom watercolor portraits for guests on the balcony at the reception.   The food was fabulous and the energy was high and just all around fun.  Caleb and Hope danced with all their best people on the dancefloor, not seeming to have care in the world!  For the exit they made their way out the impressive front doors of the signature club and through the lines of their guests with glowing sparklers tunneling before them.

People talk about ideal clients a lot, but when I say that about Caleb and Hope I mean it!!! I love meeting sweet couples with shared vision and a love for the Lord, and a bride who enjoys the whimsical/bohemian vibes is always nice too!!  Caleb and Hope enjoy some more favorites from every part of your day.
