Kaleigh & Chase > An October Vineyard Wedding

This wedding was a special one because I knew the bride personally from attending EKU for teaching together. When Kaleigh reached out saying she thought of me first, I took that as the highest compliment knowing there are so many talented photographers she could have chosen. After meeting Chase and getting to know them both more at the engagement session in downtown Lexington and seeing how they interacted, their energy and love really was contagious. For lack of a better adjective, they are just fun! Their day was one of those weddings that just seemed to flow smoothly and seamlessly. The event took place at a newer venue just outside of Lexington, The Lodge at Logan Vineyards. A sunny day surrounded by the vineyards at the start of fall was the perfect setting for Kaleigh and Chase.

Upon arriving, I got started with Kaleigh’s details. She had a lovely unique color palette of slate blue and wine. The bridal party was so encouraging and bubbling over with excitement, making the bridesmaids reveal one of my favorites! Most of the bridesmaids were sisters or had been a part of the same Bible study ad Kaleigh in college. We captured some bridal party photos on the tree-lined path. Next it was Chase’s turn to celebrate with his groomsmen before marrying his bride.

One thing that stood out to me about this wedding, was how welcoming the family and guests were! Kaleigh’s cousin is one of my 2021 brides as well so it was nice seeing familiar faces and having some connections! The ceremony was sweet and officiated by a close friend/mentor to the bride and groom. After the ceremony ended, we captured some fun full bridal party photos! Then it timed out perfectly to focus on Kaleigh and Chase’s portraits just as the sun was setting over the vineyards making for those glowy dream portraits in the height of golden hour! Again I had fun just venturing around with Kaleigh and Chase as their contagious joy once again made my job easy!

After entering the reception, everyone truly enjoyed themselves partying the night away. Kaleigh and her girls danced in a circle most of the evening, singing along to all their favorite songs! The venue has a beautiful space just outside the garage door opening that can be used as an extra cocktail or reception area. My second shooter pointed out that the cloth drapings flowing in the wind gave off very “Greatest Showman” vibes and I couldn’t agree more so I had to steal Kaleigh and Chase away to take advantage of that for a moment. After some more dancing and celebrating the night concluded with a sparkler send-off under the twinkle lights.

Kaleigh & Chase thank you for choosing me to be a part of your day and letting me capture your story! Enjoy some of my favorites!!

This day would not have been possible without incredible vendors and some family members!
